Modeling: For a lack of voter data infrastructure
Modeling has been around for decades. The underpinnings of it are in statistical analysis that can pair voter datapoints to polling results or election outcomes, and devise a mathematical statement that can describe some political leaning or likelihood of a voter to turnout and vote.
The Math of Targeting
Through the years, PDI has become known for very solid targeting of likely voters using a number of variables, most notably vote history. The PDI voter file, unlike any other public or private file in the country, combines thousands of statewide and local elections from across 58 counties.
Voting Mechanics Matter
The overall enthusiasm within the electorate is the most important driving factor in turnout. But no matter if enthusiasm is high or low, the mechanics of the process do make some voters more or less likely to cast a ballot.
